We took our two kids (ages 7 and 10) on the guided kayak tour and it was the highlight of our entire Florida vacation. Our guide Tyler was incredibly patient with the kids, helping them learn to paddle and pointing out every bird and fish along the way. My daughter still talks about the baby seahorse we spotted in the mangroves. The tandem kayaks were stable and easy to handle, and we never once felt rushed. If you are visiting Bonita Springs with kids, do not miss this tour.

My husband surprised me with a sunset kayak tour for our anniversary trip, and it was the most romantic experience we have ever had. Paddling through the mangroves as the sky turned from orange to pink to purple was absolutely magical. Our guide gave us just the right amount of space to enjoy the moment together while still sharing interesting facts about the area. We floated in open water watching the sun melt into the Gulf of Mexico and neither of us wanted it to end. The perfect date night in Bonita Springs.

I have done wildlife tours in Costa Rica, Belize, and Hawaii, and this one ranks right up there with the best of them. Within the first twenty minutes we had a pod of four dolphins swimming alongside our kayaks, close enough that I could hear them breathing. Later we drifted quietly past a manatee and her calf grazing on seagrass. Our guide Rachel knew every single bird by sight and sound and had an incredible depth of knowledge about the Estero Bay ecosystem. Worth every penny.

Rented a paddleboard for a half day and it was the most relaxing morning of our trip. The board was in great shape, the carbon fiber paddle was super light, and the staff took time to show me proper technique before I headed out. The water off Big Hickory Island was calm and clear, and I ended up paddling over to a sandbar where I had a little beach all to myself for an hour. Easy parking, friendly crew, fair price. Will absolutely rent again next time we visit.

I organized a team building event for our sales department and Mike's Coastal Expeditions absolutely nailed it. We had 20 people split across tandem kayaks, and the guides turned it into a fun, low-key competition navigating through the mangrove tunnels. Everyone from our most athletic reps to our office staff had a blast. People were talking about it for weeks back at the office. It beat every escape room, bowling night, and ropes course we have ever done. Already planning to book again for Q4.

I am going to be honest, I was really nervous about kayaking. I am not a strong swimmer and I had never been in any kind of small boat before. But our guide Alex put me completely at ease from the moment we met. He walked me through everything step by step during the safety briefing, stayed right next to me for the first ten minutes until I found my rhythm, and checked in regularly throughout the tour. I never once felt unsafe, and by the end I was paddling confidently through the mangrove tunnels on my own. This is the experience that made me fall in love with kayaking.

Seeing manatees in the wild has been on my bucket list for years, and this tour delivered beyond anything I imagined. We saw six manatees over the course of three hours, including a mother with a young calf that surfaced about ten feet from my kayak. Our guide was very respectful of the wildlife, keeping us at an appropriate distance and cutting the group's paddling so we could drift silently. She explained the conservation efforts protecting these gentle animals and how the seagrass beds in Estero Bay are critical to their survival. A truly meaningful experience.

This is our fourth year booking with Mike's Coastal Expeditions and they never disappoint. We come down to Bonita Springs every February and the kayak tour is always our first activity. The team remembers us by name at this point, and they always manage to show us something new, whether it is a different route through the mangroves or a sandbar we have not visited before. The equipment is always in top condition, the guides are always knowledgeable and friendly, and the experience is consistently five stars. Mike's crew is simply the best in Southwest Florida.

We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary on the sunset tour and it could not have been more perfect. Our guide noticed the anniversary gift bag we brought along and offered to take photos of us with the sunset behind us, which turned out to be the best pictures from our entire trip. He even positioned our kayaks in a quiet cove so we could toast with the champagne we had packed. The colors over the Gulf that evening were unreal. If you are celebrating something special, the sunset tour with this crew is the way to do it.

As an amateur wildlife photographer, I was looking for a tour that would move at a pace that let me actually get good shots, and this was exactly that. Our guide understood what I needed and positioned the kayak perfectly for lighting and angle when we spotted birds, dolphins, and other wildlife. He would call out sightings early so I had time to get my camera ready. I came away with over 200 photos and at least a dozen that I would consider portfolio quality. The roseate spoonbill shot from the tidal flat is now framed in my living room. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to photograph Florida wildlife from the water.

We brought 15 family members ranging in age from 8 to 72 for a family reunion activity, and Mike's team handled the logistics flawlessly. They had a mix of tandem and single kayaks ready for us, gave everyone personalized instruction based on their comfort level, and kept the whole group together without making anyone feel left behind. My 72-year-old mother was beaming the entire time and said it was the best thing she had done in years. The guides even snapped group photos on the sandbar for us. A perfect activity for all ages and all fitness levels.

I was traveling solo through Southwest Florida and almost skipped this because I felt weird signing up alone. So glad I did not. The guide paired me with another solo traveler in a tandem kayak and we ended up having a great time getting to know each other while paddling through the mangroves. The rest of the group was super friendly too. By the end of the three hours, it felt like I had known these people for weeks. This tour was easily the highlight of my two-week Florida road trip. If you are a solo traveler, do not hesitate to book. You will feel welcome from the moment you arrive.
